Architectural Work

Hanover Square Loft Renovation

In a financial district building in which offices had been converted to apartments, our intention was to recapture the original volumetric qualities of the architecture and to create an open flow of space.  We stripped out the ceilings to reveal the original beamed structure, and created a ‘donut’ around a bathroom/closet core, with access to the 2 bedrooms at either end of the core. The clients loved glass and we used it to emphasize the organization of spaces around that core, and to enable borrowed natural light and views through spaces. The living room bookcase fulfilled the client’s dream of having all of his books in one place at one time.
