Chelsea Loft Renovation

The owners of an essentially ‘raw’ loft in Chelsea wanted to create discrete rooms without losing the feeling of spaciousness and continuity. We used the elaborate beamed ceiling, partition setbacks, and, especially, a variety of custom pivoting, pocketing, and folding doors to allow for a sense of openness with 2 separate bedrooms, one of which subdivides into a nursery and office, the other into a dressing area. In addition, the owners collect furniture and sculpture from their travels. Much of the space is designed to accommodate specific pieces.
